L. Madison Steele works as a Procurement Officer at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. Madison is so good at her job, her inbox never empties as priority projects are always given to her. Her current assignment involves letting Project Andromeda out for bid. However, that abruptly ends when Air Force Officer of Special Investigations Agent Austin Wait believes she stole the top secret biological warfare secrets that are intricate to Project Andromeda.
Initially Madison wants to only prove her innocence although the evidence points otherwise. Only Lieutenant Jon Colter believes her, but then again he loves Madison even if she remains oblivious to his feelings. Jon has inherited psychic powers from his mother that he will reluctantly need if he is to keep Madison safe.
When this reviewer heard that this novel's story line centers on a New Age espionage thriller with an infant to muck up the works, my reaction was: James Bond in reincarnation (not in terms of Connery to Moore, etc., but a previous life Bond) changing diapers. Instead ACCESS is an exciting tale that makes readers believe in the authenticity of various New Age elements. The espionage subplot works because not only are the characters wonderful and real, but the apparent setup of Madison is cleverly designed. Adding in a look at the Defense Department's Acquisition Corps, administers of a business probably greater than all the Fortune 500 combined, add to this feel of reality to a fabulous tale. Fans fortunate enough to read this novel will want to read more works by Lorna Tedder.
