CHRISTMAS MAGIC
Marianne LaCroix
Amber Quill Press, 2004
ISBN: 1592792111
Four years ago, David Bradley sublimated everything in order to make his Internet business a success. He achieved what he thought he wanted as the business is booming, but his seven year relationship with his wife Mary is nonexistent because of him. He believes Mary would be better off without him though the thought of another man with his beloved sends David into a melancholy jealousy. Still his Christmas gift to Mary is a divorce so she can find a man who will cherish her as she deserves.

Mary loves David, but wants back the man she married who shared her passion for life. She feels useless and unwanted as David even takes care of his needs by working out or showering.

As usual David works late even though this is Christmas Eve. Mr. Claus drops by and provides David a picture of how unbearably miserable his life would be without Mary. While he ponders his fate, Desiree Claus prepares Mary to regain her lost husband.

Marianne LaCroix modifies It's A Wonderful Life by having the lead character see what his life without Mary would have been as opposed to what her life and others would have been without him. The fresh insightful romantic fantasy story line hooks the audience with its moods that reflect the lead couple as it starts very sad, turns even more morose before beginning to see a distant glimmer of hope. The Claus couple is a delightful duo that yes reader there is a Mr. and Mrs. Santa that brings adults hope through love. Ms. LaCroix has furbished a charming uplifting tale.
