In Texas, Matthew Wolverine loves his wife and daughter, but never finds quality time for them as he is consumed with making money. After two decades of Michael failing them, Cate, though she loves him, drives with Rachel to her mother's home only to have both of them die in a car crash. A stunned Michael cannot even cry for the two people he loves. Filled with remorse, he agrees to go to the Scottish Highlands to spread Cate's ashes amongst the place of her birth.
In Scotland, his rental breaks down in a remote area far from Glasgow. Matthew enters a church where he prays at a cross, finally cries, and falls through the cross to the last year of the millennium. There his military work in Viet Nam helps him become the leader of a local clan. His business background enables him take charge. The deaths of his wife and child provide him with a brutal lesson learned that at least in the year 999 seems unique. However, he never expected to fall in love again nor have a nearby well-known watery monster as a pet or battle with dragons.
THE ULITMATE DRAGON is an entertaining time travel romantic fantasy adventure. The story line is fast-paced with the action never easing up for even a paragraph. Although Michael adapts to his new environs too easily, the audience will cherish the new person who emphasizes family friendly actions. The adventures of Michael in medieval Scotland are fun to read and the audience will anxiously await Daniel Jason sending his hero off to Atlantis next.
